Is your office environment quiet? Boring? Uninteresting? Humdrum? Is the environment so silent that you can hear a pin drop down the hall? If you office is downright dull, it might be difficult to keep employees motivated.

Everyone likes a little bit of entertainment on a daily basis. While it might be impossible to please everyone due to varying personalities in any office, it's absolutely possible to provide a little bit of excitement to your employees for a few minutes each day. With just a small amount of effort, you can easily transform your office culture from uninteresting to engaging!

What employer doesn't want happy and interested employees? Employees that are able to benefit from an enthusiastic office environment can be more productive, more loyal, and more interested in their job. But don't worry. Facilitating an office environment that is lively does not necessarily have to cost a dime. And, the results can be extraordinary!

To create a more exciting office, try some of our favorite ideas:

Spruce up the look of the office. A boring-looking office promotes a boring office culture. If you want your employees to feel happy and excited when they get to work, make sure the walls are painted a bright color, the windows are letting in natural light, and pictures are hung on the walls. Also, a break area that includes a comfy couch or chairs is a great way to promote a friendly atmosphere.

Keep the break room stocked with healthy snacks. When you provide healthy snacks, your employees will appreciate it. Knowing that snacks are available in the break room (for free!) is also an incentive for your employees to take a quick break from their desk - which is a good thing!

Celebrate birthdays the right way. When someone in the office has a birthday, make sure to decorate his or her office or desk. Make it a big deal! Birthdays are meant to be celebrated. A cake and a small present is a great way to make your employees feel appreciated.

Allow employees to bring their dog to work. Inviting pets in your office will not work in every work environment. But allowing well-behaved dogs in the office is one of the best ways to make sure things always remain exciting - and adorable.

When something funny happens in the office, let everyone know. Nothing is worse for an employee than to hear two or three people down the hall laughing and having a great time while they are stuck in their cubicle not knowing what is going on. If something funny happens, let everyone in on the joke!

There are many other ways to make sure you office is never described as "dull." If you feel like there is room for improvement in your office, all you have to do is commit to developing a more lively office environment. Enlisting the help of enthusiastic employees is a great idea. Your employees will be eager and grateful to get to the office each morning if they know a lively office culture awaits them!
