Declutter Your Schedule With a Virtual Assistant

All those tasks are important, but that doesn’t mean you have to do them all yourself

Being a one-woman small business or a three-man startup comes with its perks and pitfalls.

Being the boss is great. Charting new territory and doing what you love are amazing. But sometimes there isn’t enough of you to go around. Your schedule gets crowded with stuff, but sometimes you’re tied up with stuff that might not be the best focus for your energy.

So how do you declutter your schedule to do the things that will help grow your business? Call in a little virtual help.

Just as a virtual office can keep your overhead low, a virtual assistant and other ancillary services can keep you stress level low by allowing you to concentrate on the big picture.

We know every part of your business is important, even the small tasks, but sometimes a little help with small tasks can lend big returns when it comes to growth, reputation and revenue.

A virtual assistant can free you from any number of tasks, such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, making confirmation calls, preparing meetings and more. A VA can tackle those survey results you just haven’t had time to pour through, can book that trip for you and your team, or keep your Facebook page and Twitter stream current and fresh.

Those tasks, and others like them, might not be the most difficult, but they are still among your most important.

“A virtual assistant can take day-to-day items that cause stress, but are not actually that difficult, and get them done behind the scenes so you can keep working on the bigger things that matter,” Jess Ostroff, Director of Calm at Don’t Panic Management, a virtual assistance agency specializing in end-to-end Facebook management services for businesses, told Small Business Trends for a story on choosing the right virtual assistant.

A virtual assistant could even be your secret weapon for success.

In a post for Entrepreneur, Renee Warren, CEO and cofounder of demand marketing agency Onboardly, wrote, “The biggest secret of highly productive people isn’t in any way groundbreaking, but it is most often forgotten: They don’t try and do everything themselves. In theory, delegating work sounds like a fairly easy mantra, but in reality it’s a huge challenge for heads of startups and small businesses.”

And if money or office space are holding you back from freeing up your time to do less but do it better, a VA is an obvious choice, according to Warren.

“As an entrepreneur or small business owner, even if you are on board with getting help, you often don’t have the time, space or resources available to hire that additional employee you desperately need. That’s why so many successful business people have turned their attention to virtual assistants. VAs not only save you time and money, but they are also an affordable and experienced investment in the growth of your company.”

If you think about it, using a virtual assistant isn’t really a new concept. You probably already use an electronic version of one on your Smartphone or tablet. But Siri, Alexa and Cortana can’t respond to a new customer inquiry. Instead, turn to Intelligent Office. We can offer you the right virtual assistant for all your needs, big or small.
